In response to increased visitation, the ACT Government is upgrading the Stromlo Forest Park carpark and improving user safety. A feature of the update is the new Village Green that prides a central community space that can also be utilised for larger events.
The carpark upgrade will deliver a parking facility encouraging safe circulation and active travel, while also enhancing the landscape and pedestrian network of the site and its surrounds.
Key features include:- 490 parking spaces | 14 disabled parking spaces | long vehicle parking.- New asphalt pavement on carparks and shared paths.- Soft landscaping incorporating deciduous and native trees, native shrubs and groundcovers to create green pockets of space around parking spaces.- Improved stormwater management blended into the environment.
